.. STEVE PITICCO; born in Toronto, Ontario on July 6th/1961, started playing guitar at age eleven. At the age of fifteen years he purchased his Telecaster and has since then, performed professionally with that specific guitar. Subsequently, he has toured and recorded with countless Top Canadian Country act's, who utilize him for his distinctive Tele sound When it comes to playing a TELECASTER, STEVE PITICCO is in a class of his own.The mere mention of his name among industry peer's bring comments like, "He's from another planet!" or "It should be against the law to play like that!".------------ The "Canadian Country Music Association", (C.C.M.A.), continually recognize Steve's talent, awarding him with the 1990/91/92 and 1993 "Guitar Player Of The Year" citation award. The C.C.M.A. has also honoured Steve with the title of overall "Instrumentalist" in Canadian Country Music in 1985/90 and 1991. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The "D.C.M.A." in Holland, also honoured Steve with 5 "Gram Award's" for the "International Instrumentalist Award" in 1993, 1994 and 2001, 2002, & 2003, winning over many other Internationally acclaimed picker's. Steve has performed many guitar shows & clinic's in Canada and Europe, including some with special guest's "Ray Flacke & Albert Lee". Steve also had the honour of presenting the "Instrumentalist Of The Year" award in the Netherlands to it's recipient last year to: Johan Jansen. ------------In 1989, Steve formed his own band SOUTH MOUNTAIN, who were awarded the "Vista Rising Star Award" by the "Canadian Country Music Association" in 1991. The group travels extensively through out Canada and Europe and Scandinavia. SOUTH MOUNTAIN has also recieved the honour of "International Group Of The Year" from the D.C.M.A. for the year 2001 & 2003! ---------------------Steve has done recording session's with These Picker's; Brent Rowan, Paul Franklin, Eddie Bayers, Mark Oconnor, Tommy White, Gregg Galbraith, Sonny Garrish, Dave Hungate, Mike Brignardello, Micheal Rhoades, Steve Turner, Steve Hinson, Glen Duncan, Paul Leim, Matt Raulins, Hargus "Pig" Robbins, Don Reed, Charlie McCoy, Junior Barber, Ray Legier, Joe Wright, Don Helms, Russ Hicks, Wanda Vick, Tommy Wells, Norm Hamlet, Mark Yeary, Merle Haggard ... & many more!
