This very special award ceremony will be a celebration of music at the grass roots level, a chance for the newcomers and independent artists to earn recognition for their years work. Some of the country's best urban acts, who have reached the dizzy heights of the top of the charts, have all started in the mixtape game, from Wiley, Chipmunk, Tinchy Stryder to Kano, Skepta, Bashy and many more. .. .. Without the mixtape scene none of these artists would have been able to express themselves and create a fanbase to take them to the next level. We believe our award show will change the face of UK music, give artists continued hope of a breakthrough and inspire more young people to do something creative. .. .. A mixtape is a promotional CD released into the music market on an independent level with a low budget. A mixtape is what mainstream and underground artists use to promote themselves as artists as well as giving them more freedom in the music. Mixtapes are now hot property and have launched many careers due to growing sales. You can now find mixtapes being sold on itunes digitally and in stores such as HMV. With the recent chart success of artists such as Tinchy Stryder who recently reached Number 1 in the UK Official Charts not once but twice in succession and an album which number 2 if the official charts, this has put UK Urban Music scene in amongst commercial music and is now a genre of music which is recognised for all the right reasons. .. .... ////News HERE//// .... .... .. ..
