Having a love for music from youth Hussla officially entered the music industry 1997 at the age of 11, doing guest slots on local radio and playing at local parties with his Uncle “VJ”. As his skills developed and he became more established 1998 seen the launch of his own sound “JahTroopers”, which has become brand in the east-midland region. Fulfilling the role as the main selector, over the years Hussla has toured UK with the sound, playing with some of the industries biggest names, national and international. .... Through Jah Troopers Hussla has gained great experience and built a huge network of links. 2004 on a trip to Jamaica Hussla met up with Top secret studio crew & Vikings Record label who accompanied him on visits to numerous different studios around the island. Whilst working on their projects Hussla took the opportunity to build Jah Troopers catalogue of Dub plates from the likes of Ken Boothe, John Holt, Culture/Joseph Hill (R.I.P), Pinchers, I Wayne & Anthony B plus many more. .... Hussla has always favoured the creative side of music and has always showed this in everything he does. From youth song writing has been one of his major hobbies but apart from compiling books of writing and performing his songs in the school playground with Lickle J (Troopers Member) he never what to do with it..... Early 2000 when UK garage music began to rise, DJ Spess (brother) brought this new element to Troopers, giving Lickle J & Hussla the opportunity to put their song writing ability to use as the MC’s performing live lyrics over DJ Spess’s mixing and blending. The 3 became recognised package building a huge fan base and increasing Troopers already existing audience. 2003 DJ Spess Passed away bringing this side of Troopers to a Holt. After time out and encouragement from fans & supporters Hussla and Lickle J took their lyrics to the studio and began recording their songs (fulfilling DJ Spess dream). .... Through this Hussla has developed producer & artist skills, and his accident in Jamaica 2005 gave him the opportunity to sit down and dedicate time, and build his home studio, being house bound for a large portion of the year. Returning from his recovery he has still managed to keep up his reputation on a national basis. .... July 06 he was brought down to BBC’s 1xtra studios to produce his own 2hr show for 5 weeks on Xtra Talent. Four months later Hussla was also brought on BBC Asian Network to face the Hype Show Mixtape challenge. He has proved to be a great MC and been requested to host many shows from international to local talent..... He has combined his DJ skills with his producing skills and currently a top DJ of his region and slowly but surely climbing the production ladder.
