So who is the woman behind NY PR Diva?

Well, her name is Tamara Walker whose life revolves around PR. She is the former President and Principal Publicist of Blue Ice Entertainment, a boutique PR firm that catered to the Beauty, Fashion and Entertainment industries. Today, she is a public relations consulatant providing a holistic, one-on-one approach to publicity for her clients.

A SPECIAL PROJECT.....


I've toyed with the idea of returning to modeling before, but for the wrong reasons. I was looking at girls who started out at the same time as I did and where making a lucrative living off of their looks. Unfortunately when you start getting greedy and conceited, things don't go the way as planned. So my previous attempts failed. When I started thinking about why I got into modeling (because it was fun) I realized it was time to change my focus. I no longer am trying to get signed by an agency or anything of that nature. But rather, i am looking to just have fun (maybe even do a calendar or a book or two).

After watching Dita Von Tesse on Tyra the other day, it dawned on me that we don't really have an ebony plus size pin up girl out there. One that exudes sexiness, class, sophistication and beauty. Dita Von Tesse brought the pin up girl back from the "dirty" magazine days for caucasian women, now we need a woman of color to do the same. Why can't a ebony model recreate the sexiness of the women of the 20s, 30s,40s and 50s and still be considered sexy? Why can't we aspire to more than King, Black Tail, Smooth and the other men's magazines and do something more? That's in essence what I want to do.
